Apple has asked a US court to overturn an earlier request by the FBI to break into an iPhone who’s used by one of the San Bernardino killers by Bruno
In court Apple says the FBI is seeking “dangerous powers” and the move violates the permission levels for the FBI to force apple to loosen the security.
The FBI and White House continuously repeat that the request is only limited to one iPhone. But Apple says the request “simply does not exist”. Instead Apple would have to create a brand new operating system for Apple’s iOS, containing a back door into the device’s personal data. If apple were to do this, it would leave Apple vulnerable to hackers seeking for people personal data. The public are getting frustrated to the FBI’s request.
Apple also claims that no court had ever forced a company to weaken the security of its operating system to gain access to a phones individual data.
The FBI will carry on fighting with Tim Cook (CEO of Apple.) trying to gain access to Apple’s phones.
On the 18th February, James Comey (A member of the FBI.), said that the government’s dispute with Apple claimed that is was “the hardest” he had faced in government. “This is the hardest question I have seen in government and its going to require negotiation and conversation”.
So far, Apple have declined the request by the FBI to unlock the phone. Many leaders of tech, including Google’s boss and Apple’s customers are praising apple for standing up to the FBI.
In most eyes, it looks like the FBI is not going to give up for a long period of time.
