Brits go off with a bang! by Millie, Maddie and KatieIn London, on the 25th of February 2016, the Brits went off with a bang! There were great live performances from Justin Bieber, Adele, Coldplay, Little Mix, Jess Glynne, James Bay and Lorde with a David Bowie tribute to commemorate his recent death.
American singer songwriter Justin Bieber has won the award for International Male at the BRITs 2016. Bieber’s latest album Purpose has reached the top charts in over 100 countries and has broken multiple records. The 21 year old pop star began with “Love yourself” seated beside a flickering fire and guitar compliment, James Bay. Wearing a palm tree jacket and a dangling cross necklace, that led to a performance of “Sorry”. Adele queen of the Brits comes home with four amazing awards. She closed the show with When We Were Young, receiving best British single and the Global Success award, after receiving the global success award Adele said "I got really lost for a while and I didn't know if I'd ever come back," she said. "For you all to be so kind to me is so nice." Backstage Adele tells reporters "I feel a bit worn out, emotionally. But it was absolutely incredible. I was hoping to win one but to get that many was amazing and very lovely”. |
Adele triumphed in other categories winning best British single for the second time with Hello, best female solo artist and best British album called 25. After the Brits Adele headed home with boyfriend Simon Konecki as she celebrated her amazing wins, after she also modeled a dazzle of sequins in a Valentino dress.
Little Mix might be the biggest girl group in the U.K. (and possibly the world) right now, but they can still make mistakes in the eyes of fans. Little Mix, consisting of Perrie, Jesy, Jade and Leigh-Anne, performed their smash-hit single “Black Magic” at the Brit Awards, but their performance caused a riot. While the performance of “Black Magic” was spectacular, Little Mix were criticized by fans for obviously miming on the song’s chorus. As reported by OK!, Little Mix sang live only to the verses, with the “lip sync tragedy” being obvious. Assisted by dancers, a large sugar skull backdrop, and a heavy drum beat, Little Mix danced around the stage for most of the song. It is virtually impossible to put on such a production and not be out of breath, so the decision to have a backing track for the chorus of “Black Magic” might be reasonable. |
